DIY Tea Tin Candles

I’m loving this colorful display of tea tin candles via Country Living. Simple but effective (not to mention eco-chic) as table decor or favors, don’t you think? Click here for the tutorial. For tea tins, I saw a colorful assortment at PearlRiver in NYC. There’s also your local Asian supermarkets and of course, eBay to scour. Happy hunting!

These tins are gorgeous. If only we had such beautiful tins available here!

Just a quick note: The tutorial calls for wire-core wicks, and when you burn those, they have a tendency to release lead and other bad stuff into the air. Go for 100% cotton wicks instead, and tie them around the tie rods instead of wrapping them. It should have the same effect.
