I’m a graphic designer and I ADORE the look and feel of letterpress– but it’s so expensive and impractical to own one. I would use this baby for christmas cards, stationery, packaging and tags for gifts, and (of course!) wedding invitations, place cards, and save-the-dates for my friend and sister, who are both getting married soon! yay!

Entry #1: My entire wedding theme is “Vintage Love Letters & Memories” The insert of my invitations would need this, the reply cards, the save the dates. Additionally, the favors and guest book are going to be part of the fun, and hopefully we could put the letterpress out for people to “sign” the guestbook fabric with it.

60 Caitlyn { 11.16.09 at 11:33 am }

I just had the worst weekend dealing with save the dates. I have been very excited taking on everything DIY. In college I used tons of design programs and upon graduation, I ended up finding work where that skill has been unutilized. I have been excited since getting engaged to get to use these skills again. Turns out what I planned didnt work out and now I had to resort to ordering them online. UGH. Hopefully my programs, menu cards, seating placement cards etc. go better than the save the dates!!

61 denise @ little ant design { 11.16.09 at 11:39 am }

Too cool! What a neat little contraption to use on cards, tags, stationary.. oh, my, the things you could make!

152 hotrodgal { 11.16.09 at 3:38 pm }

I would love the letterpress, I have always wanted a big one but never had the money or space for it, and this solves both those problems! My first project would be making some really bitter and obnoxious note cards to send friends, because I am currently pretty heartbroken at the moment and it would give me something to focus on during these “happy” holidays.

153 Emily Kate { 11.16.09 at 3:53 pm }

I have about a million different ways I could think to use the L Letterpress.

Thank you cards, Christmas Cards, Invitations for my friend’s wedding (that I am coordinating as well, she’s going with poppy red and blue as her colours). Not to mention my own wedding invitations etc (when I get there… just don’t tell my boyfriend I said that :) )

I think I woulld have to go with creating tags for my friend and her new jewelry line. I would love to be able to help her by creating a tag for all her jewelry which would emphasize her creativity and look professional. She’s talented and I think that creating a professional style brand would give her a great edge.

243 anna { 11.16.09 at 11:07 pm }

My friend is getting married this June and I would love to help her by making letterpress STDs and/or invitations.

311 rebecca { 11.17.09 at 2:14 pm }

This may just replace my gocco for small runs of handprinted cards. Especially if I can create my own photopolymer plates at some point!

I would start with using the letterpress kit to create all of our wedding paper goods: invitations, programs, thank you cards, menus and maybe gift tags. 430 Jessica { 11.18.09 at 1:37 pm }

Would love to start a stationery line and with this handy tool! I’d be excited to come up with some experimental and differently purposed designs for funny cards like: Happy Birthday to your “Fluff-full of Joy” Cat, or Sorry Your Furry Friend is in Hamster Heaven!

431 Kati W { 11.18.09 at 1:41 pm }

For starters, I would make cards, notes, stationery, as well as labels and tags for my homemade gifts and home organization. I’d love to send something that is my own work and personalized–but that looks so lovely and professional as these as opposed to the rather sloppy though well-intended and heartfelt paper goods that I make now.

432 amanda becker { 11.18.09 at 1:42 pm }

I would love to use this machine for fabulous custom stationary!

This little letterpress machine is on my Christmas list now thanks to rave reviews from people who have had the opportunity to try it out. I’m pretty sure I’ll be making lots of announcements and shower invitations if I can get my hands on one.

454 Tess O { 11.18.09 at 3:30 pm }

I am deeply in love with letterpress. I have always wanted to learn to make my own but access to an antique letterpress machine is difficult to find. And expensive!
If I were to win this machine, I would make a card a day about things that are beautiful…

455 Meghan S. { 11.18.09 at 3:31 pm }

I would love to use this kit to make holiday gift tags and cards. I also host a lot of parties and it would be great to use this to make labels for each dish that I serve! Great giveaway, I love all the free font postings!

456 LisetteLois { 11.18.09 at 3:39 pm }

I would definitely use this to make my invitations for my wedding. It would save me a great deal, and with no job and my fiance on the virge of no job, we need any help we can get for our budget.

457 Erin L. { 11.18.09 at 3:47 pm }

I think this tool is really, really cool. I would use it to make tons and tons of note cards, birthday cards & invitations. Maybe I could quit my job & just make cards and stationery??? Okay maybe that is a little extreme, but you get the picture.

458 Megan B { 11.18.09 at 3:47 pm }

As a graphic designer I would use this as a resouce for design as well as all sorts of invitations and cards. I’ve been dying for a letter press but finances prevent me from getting one.

If I had this, I’d be making all of those things – but more fabulous! I also make wedding stationery (rehearsal dinner invites, programs, place cards, etc.) for friends and family, and a letterpress would give those things an extra-special touch. Oh, I hope I win!

I *love* letterpress machines, and even thought about trying to find one of the older machines, but who has that much money and *space* to invest in one?? That’s probably one of the things I love the most about the L Letterpress! It’s like having a letterpress machine in a smaller, more affordable, crafty form! :)

I took on a teeny tiny minimum wage job at the printshop of my school (I’m an art student) just so I could be around the letterpresses and learn by osmosis. I love the art of letterpress, and to me, anything that brings it to more people to enjoy is great. This would let me have even a bit of that experience right at home, and it would fit into my teeny tiny student budget (giveaways are blessings like that)!
