Free Printable French Themed Paper

Happy Bastille Day! In honor of our French readers and francophiles everywhere, I thought I’d post some goodies with a bit of a French flair.

Fleur de lys, french stripes, cupid garlands, laurel wreath frames, ooh la la! These printable designs are actually for making dolls house wallpaper but can also be used to make packages, fabrics and trims.

Think envelope liners, stationery backgrounds, wrappers, placemats, napkin rings, labels, seating cards, and the list goes on…

The PDFs can be used to print on paper or fabric (such as the EQ inkjet cotton lawn reviewed here). Each sheet prints a pattern that will fit on a standard letter size sheet and can be scaled to different sizes using your printer controls.

Because you know I can’t get enough of labels (particularly the French vintage kind 😉 ), here’s a few more to incorporate bright and happy as ‘lemonade’ into your celebration.  And for some Tuscan (Provence?) flair, I’m loving the garland embellished with citrus fruits. The beautiful green leaves and the aromatic citrus fruits (not to mention the yummy mix of royal blues and yellows!) create a tantalizing combination, don’t you think?  Totally bookmarking these for future use!

Happy weekend folks!

Motif: Faux Bois

Faux bois or French for “fake wood.”   I’m a fan of the more stylish and modern take on this decorative motif.  Great for a gardeny-woodlandsy-outdoorsy affair.  And yes, I’m blaming The Martha for getting me started — back in the day when the mag featured details from Katie & Ian’s Real Wedding:

Yup, The Martha certainly loves some faux bois.  Just check out some of her DIY tutes (you need to close the video to view the how-to’s):
